Chris Huaracha (he/him) joined the W. Clement & Jessie V. Stone Foundation in 2022 and serves as the Director of Finance & Operations. He oversees human resources, financial and investment management, budgeting, compliance, and day-to-day operations at the organization. Prior to joining the Foundation, Chris worked for several years as the head of accounting at the Reva & David Logan Foundation.
Originally from the Cleveland and Houston areas, Chris attended Miami University, where he received his bachelor’s degree in diplomacy & Foreign Affairs, and minors in European Studies, French, and Geography. He also brings over 15 years of operations and finance experience from a myriad of industries. He initially began working for a biotech company based in Cincinnati, Ohio, where he started his career in accounting. Chris later relocated to Chicago, where he held similar financial support roles from tech to the legal sectors.
After a hiatus from the corporate world, Chris decided to focus and utilize his skills in nonprofits. This passion grew out of his experience from volunteering for organizations like the Lakeview Pantry, Human Rights Campaign, and the Center on Halsted. He later received his Certified Nonprofit Accounting Professional accreditation to help him in his career goals. It led him to hold accounting and operations management roles at the Small Business Banking Network, Equality Illinois, and the Arts & Business Council of Chicago. He currently lives on the northside of Chicago, where he looks forward to summer in the city, and loves to travel and attend music festivals when possible.
